As anyone whose known me for awhile can attest, I picked out the names for my first born kids years ago--number one is Primeau (spelled like the hockey player), and number two is Showtime (spelled like the cable channel). Pretty awesome names, I know. I mean, just practice saying them for a second...doesn't Showtime Exnicios just roll off the tongue?
As most of you also know, I got married about 7 months back, and Mrs. Exnicios--despite my always being up front about my baby names--isn't exactly sold. On either of them.
Or so I thought, until yesterday she sent me this article on baby names (and no, we're not contemplating babies). Right there at the bottom of the first post the experts at The Baby Name Wizard suggest Primo as a name for one's first born, or a kid born on January 1st.
Now, they might have the spelling a bit wrong--and the last thing I want is a bunch of people to steal little Primeau's name from him--but I'm all the same glad to see some well deserved credibility for my future first born's name.
So is Lauren warming up? Time will tell. But at this point, I have enough friends who are gonna call the poor kid Primeau regardless of what his real name is...I just hope Lauren knows what she's in for.

I would consider Primeau and Showtime so long as I get to additional kids to make up for it.
Are other wives out there subject to this ridiculous naming convention? It seems unfair I have to deal with deployment AND my children being eternally mocked by the Duke crew.

He told me about these names at least five years ago in the food court at the Fort Polk PX. I think you should just go with it.
I believe Primo is the name of a Pizza Hut Pizza. Andrew, were you scanning the food court and decided "hey there's a good name for a baby" ?
Longer than that actually, those names were established in college I'm pretty sure. And to answer Lauren's question, oh yes they are. My personal choice for 6 boy's names are
Joaquin Jesus
Joaquin Jesus 2
Joaquin Jesus the Return
Joaquin Jesus the Revenge
Joaquin Jesus the Conqueror
Alison can name #6 unless I come up with something better. I still tell her that if she gets drugged when our first is born in July and I get the naming certificate first that she may just have a little JJ.
Patrick beat me to commenting on his ridiculous baby-naming scheme. At least he didn't come up with 11 JJ's to field a soccer team. I have about 4-5 months left to convince him of other, hopefully less make-fun-of-able names. Wish me luck!
As Lauren knows, one of my potential businesses is a service at hospitals where new parents will have to check with me before leaving the hospital so I can approve baby names. This avoids two real-life scenarios - twins Sega & Genesis and twins (who I went to HS with) Mickey & Minnie.
Really, we all will win.
You were supposed to be named Aloysius Exnicios, but I guess the person who filled out the birth certificate couldn't spell that and settled on Andrew.
